A Mission That Matters

E-mail Print PDF

Research shows an alarming 13-17 year delay in the use of mental health research findings in clinical settings. Every year, over 70% of the 33 million Americans seeking help for behavioral health and addiction disorders receive inappropriate care for their conditions. In addition, individuals with chronic mental and physical ailments are responsible for 75% of healthcare costs in the United States. Improvement in the provision of care to this population is essential.

Our mission at CRI is to prevent and cure mental illness and adiction. By conducting independent clinical studies and partnering with researchers from over a dozen universities, including Vanderbilt University, Brown University, Columbia University, and the University of Texas Southwestern, CRI has combined the work of world-class neuroscientists and addictions researchers with the accessibility of Centerstone’s 70,000 clients in order to be at the forefront of the quickly expanding field of behavioral health research. Through this pioneering work, we intend to help unlock the complex mysteries related to the development and treatment of mental illness.
